What Botox Is
Botox® is a purified protein that is produced by the clostridium botulinum bacteria. There have been no serious side effects associated with its use by dermatologists. It is a natural, extremely safe, although temporary method of improving wrinkles and signs of aging of the face and neck.
How Botox Works
A few drops of Botox are injected with a tiny needle into the muscle that is causing the wrinkle. Over the next five to seven days the Botox effect begins. The Botox blocks motor impulses of the muscle, which weakens the muscle and causes the wrinkles in the overlying skin to gradually soften and often disappear. The effect lasts for about two to four months, with an average of about three months of wrinkle-free face. There is much more to the effect though. Botox can also be injected into specific muscles of the forehead to raise the eyebrows and create a beautiful arch, and make the eyes appear larger. I call this the Botox facelift or sculpting of the face with Botox. This is a non-surgical approach to the facelift and can be helpful as a first step in someone considering a more permanent approach such as a facelift.
Where Botox Can Help Your Wrinkles
The most common areas for the use of Botox are the frown lines between the eyes, the furrows of the forehead, and the crow’s feet at the sides of the eyes. It is also now used to treat lines around the mouth and necklines. Botox does not affect the way the skin feels; there is no pain or numbness of the skin after Botox treatments. The effects are noted only in the specific muscles that have been treated, other parts of the body remain unchanged.
Botox for Excessive Sweating
Other very effective uses of Botox, recently developed by Dermatologists are the improvement of excessive sweating of the underarms. When topical and oral medications fail, Botox has been proven to be very effective for the treatment of uncontrollable sweating, especially of the underarms. The improvement in sweating can last for six months or longer.

Juvederm Collection of Fillers
What is filler?
The main ingredient in our injectable fillers is hyaluronic acid, or HA. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in our bodies that can hold up to a thousand times its weight in water. Targeting specific areas of the face with JUVÉDERM® treatments, which are made with modified hyaluronic acid, will help to temporarily add volume to those areas.
There are several kinds of dermal fillers. Your healthcare provider will discuss your options with you. As with any cosmetic procedure, there are risks, including infection, bleeding and bruising.
One of the best aspects of injectable filler is that results can be seen immediately! You will likely also observe some swelling, redness, and bruising, but this will fade over time after your treatment to reveal your true results.
The results of this treatment are nearly instantaneous. Typically you can often immediately see improvement. Over the next few weeks, the skin will absorb the HA and will settle, culminating in the full effects of the treatment. These results will then last, without you having to do anything more!
Ageless Expressions MedSpa prides themselves on giving natural and beautiful results that help us to look like the best versions of ourselves.
What to expect on your first visit?
Your injector will start with a consultation to determine if you’re a candidate for treatment. Your injector will ask you questions about your medical background, including what medications you are currently taking, and discuss the risks of filler procedures. If you’re deemed a candidate, your provider will inject the selected JUVÉDERM® product into the approved treatment area that will provide the best results for you. Be ready to remove your makeup before you get treated!
TYPES OF JUVEDERM FILLERS
Juvederm Ultra XC and Ultra Plus XC
Add fullness to the lips with Juvéderm Ultra XC. Some people simply have naturally thin lips and just want to achieve a fuller appearance. Other people have noticed their lips thinning over time and may also have seen vertical lip lines become more noticeable. Juvéderm Ultra adds more fullness and plumps thin lips—whether your lips have thinned over time or you simply want fuller lips. Results last up to one year.
Vollure
Smooth parentheses lines and wrinkles with Vollure, a dermal filler that softens moderate to severe facial lines to create a smoother appearance. Over time, your skin loses elasticity, which contributes to moderate to severe parenthese lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. While serums and creams work on the skin’s surface, Vollure adds volume below the surface, producing soft, subtle, long-lasting results that last up to 18 months.
Voluma
Lift and contour cheeks with Voluma, a dermal filler that adds volume to correct age-related volume loss in the cheeks to help create a more youthful appearance. Over time, cheeks flatten, and the skin may begin to sag. This is caused by a natural loss of volume in the cheek area. Voluma is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface. Patients reported looking up to five years younger six months after treatment. Results last up to two years in the cheek area.
Volbella
Add subtle volume to the lips and soften the appearance of vertical lip lines with Volbella. Some people simply have naturally thin lips and just want to achieve a fuller appearance. Other people have noticed their lips thinning over time and may also have seen vertical lip lines become more noticeable. Results last up to one year.
Volux
The newest product in Juvederm’s line of fillers. Redefine your jawline with Volux, a filler designed to improve jawline definition in people with moderate to severe loss of jawline definition. Adding volume to improve the shape and structure of the lower face helps provide smooth definition in the jawline that can last up to a year.
